Made my hair feel so nice, but the smell is definitely slightly off putting

I have used this a couple of times on my color-treated hair and while I think the product is good, I do think it can be better, especially for the price. I do wonder, however, if it does not have the same effect on cheap box hair dye. I am due to get professional color soon and will continue to use. Purchase at your own risk but I hope with continue use, I change my mind. It does make it easy to comb your hair after washing and your hair feels soft but I do see someone else mention it made their hair feel heavy and I agree. When my hair dries it feels heavy and gets tangled and hard, which is something that did not occure with my previous shampoo and conditioner. I will continue to use at this time but depending on how I feel after further use, I may or may not continue using it.

The entire Color Lustre line from Shu Uemura is my new HG. I’ve been dyeing my dirty blonde hair jet black for years… I’m always trying to keep it from fading and constantly maintaining my roots. So, when it comes to hair products that promise color protection - I’m super picky and always on the hunt for the latest and greatest. I’ve been using the shampoo, conditioning treatment, and color sealer spray for several weeks now after receiving a sample. The Color Protecting Treatment is The BOMB. After using the Color Protecting Shampoo, I put this in my hair until the last few minutes of my shower and then rinse it out. My hair feels soooo silky after rinsing. Course and damaged hair girls out there, this is IT! I hate when I use a conditioner and I can’t even run my fingers through my hair after rinsing it out. Feels like a waste. I’ve noticed a huge difference in the moisture level of my hair and the color protection it provides over the past several weeks. On a side note, the packaging is gorgeous and I smell like I’ve walked out of a hair salon. Definitely worth the price tag!

The most immediate issue is the scent. To put it bluntly, this mask smells awful. The unpleasant odor is noticeable as soon as you open the container and lingers in your hair after use. If you're sensitive to fragrances, this alone might be a deal-breaker. While the mask claims to protect color-treated hair, I found its performance lacking in other crucial areas. After use, my hair was left feeling greasy and weighed down. Instead of the silky, nourished feeling I expect from a high-end hair mask, my hair felt coated and heavy. The greasy residue not only made my hair look flat and lifeless but also seemed to attract oil more quickly, meaning I needed to wash my hair more frequently - which is counterproductive for color protection. While it may work for some hair types, I can't recommend it based on my experience. There are other color-protecting treatments on the market that don't compromise on scent or leave behind an unpleasant greasy feeling.

Ill start by saying this product does it's job. It does lengthen the time color stays vibrant, and this is hard with reds. Hair is incredibly smooth and silky. After a few hours though, my hair seems to become heavy and lifeless, and does not feel clean, a bit oily even. No chance of skipping a wash during the week! The scent is OK.

I used to love this product, especially the lovely scent. They must have changed the formulation as the scent is nothing like it used to be, in fact, i would describe it as bad smelling. I had to return the product which was very disappointing

The whole concept of this line is great. It feels super luxurious. The packaging is so pretty and it she's fantastic. I can let my hair dry naturally after using this she it's not all crazy. The conditioner was super moisturizing.

I color my hair bright red so I’m always looking for products that are color friendly and also make my hair more vibrant, and this product exceeded my expectations. It smells absolutely amazing too! My hair has truly not felt this soft in a long time. I would recommend this to anyone who is considering purchasing this. It’s more than worth it.
