My expectation was this would be a softer but still durable rubber. It is not. To suggest this toy for a senior dog is wildly inappropriate. It is so hard and heavy that it should be marketed to only big aggressive chewers. We bought it to replace a Nylabone she did chew but concerned us that it may be damaging gums. This toy is so hard and heavy, she won't even pick it up in her mouth. I would return it, if that were possible. Very much not recommended.

The toy is very, very heavy. My puppy is 4 months old and plays with it freely. Takes it from place to place. Good size fits my dog. Yes I see that after a few uses it starts to wear out because of the teeth

im not sure about this toy I got it for my senior but it's just a super heavy block of rubber not very nice on their teeth, i cant speak for the quality but maybe good for a super heavy chewer
