PX Therapeutics®, GLP-Pre® GLP-1 Prebiotic Complex, 5 oz (141 g)

This prebiotic powder contains 2 excellent ingredients - Solnul resistant potato starch (RS2) and PreticX xylooligosaccharides from non-GMO corn cobs. However, there is also 200 mg mushroom beta-glucans from lion's mane, cordyceps and reishi which I don't think adds any benefit from my perspective. The powder is an off-white, cream to light colour, is odourless and tasteless, and mixes well into porridge or yoghurt. The powder tends to be a bit lumpy, but the lumps are easily broken up and it doesn't clump or go gloopy when mixed in food. It also doesn't affect the texture, apart from a slight mealy sensation perhaps. So it's easy to consume. After using this for 1 week I don't yet notice any changes in bowel function at all, but it may take longer use, if I can stick with it. I don't like that it seems to lower my blood pressure quite a bit and I blame the mushroom extracts for that, especially reishi (these can contain amines, such as putrescine). Next I think I will try just pure resistant dextrin to see if that has a better effect.

It's not exactly what you'd expect, but its ingredients do aid digestion. Plus, I'm much less bloated since I started taking it, which is a huge benefit for me. It doesn't curb hunger per se, but it does improve metabolism.

It dissolves easily, is easily absorbed by the body, has a fine powder, and has no odor.

I was interested in managing my gut health, so I purchased a GLP-Pre prebiotic complex and have been taking it consistently. I liked the fact that it allows me to manage both prebiotics and gut health at the same time, and although it is in powder form, it was not difficult to consume. I think it would be a good fit for those who want to take care of their gut health along with consistent dietary management.
