Misleading Meat Tenderizer
I was so happy to get this for Christmas as my old one was made out of wood (yuck!)! I used it for the first time and threw it into the dishwasher. When putting it away, my hands were full of grey matter. . . from the tool. Under closer inspection. . in tiny print, it says hand-wash. I did wash it and got most of the grey film off. . . but my guess I will be throwing this away. Why would you make something that you use with raw meat without the ability to throw in the dishwasher?!?!? !

Tarnishing Meat Tenderizer
We bought the OXO Die Cast Meat Tenderizer and have been using for a couple of months. We noticed that the aluminium shaft and heads are tarnishing and leaving a grey substance on the meat, handle and shaft. We stopped using it, tried to scrub it with Dawn dish detergent to no avail. I think its aluminium. Have you considered using an alternative metal? This kitchen utensil has been rendered useless. Not happy here in North Cowichan on Vancouver Island.

Gave off grey powder. I thought it was stainless steel?
I hope I won't get cancer from the grey residue that was all over my hands and meat. It took several minutes to try and wash the tool off. I only have used it 3 times.
