They look great and are a thick material, but once they are washed the color fades dramatically. They also shrink a bit. The description says machine wash, but they are definitely hand wash only.

They are quite bulky to handle, but they prevent me from getting burned.

The mitts are thick and have kept my hands cool when removing hot items from both the oven and the microwave. They are very comfortable and easy and to store by handing them from small loops attached to the mitts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice mitt set from Kate Spade. I was surprised to learn Kate spade makes kitchen supplies (I know she makes bedding too). Anyway the gloves are well made as expected from high end designer. They are thick and almost stiff when you first touch them. Definitely no worries of feeling the oven heat on bakeware when removing from oven (don’t you hate that? Happens to me when I buy cheap oven mitts). I can’t wait to use these for years to come. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After having these for two weeks, I almost cringed when I had to cut the labels off the oven mitts and start using them because the white I know it’s gonna get extremely dirty and I don’t want these oven mitts to start looking older worn. It’s one of those catch 22s where you need to use them in the kitchen but when you start using them they won’t be cute and you won’t be able to hang them up and show them off anymore. So that’s why I mention in the review, this is almost too cute to use. I wouldn’t use these for very heavy pots and pans. I was a little nervous about how the heat would absorb in the oven it, but these are very sick and have a lot of padding and I didn’t feel comfortable holding the cookie pan and cookie sheets.

So far they work as intended, no burns. I like that they are rather long and cover my arms a decent amount. They are a little stiff but I think they'll soften up over time. So far they wipe down well when I get food on them.

I’ve used them primarily for baking dishes and desserts, and no matter what pan I use, these mitts do the job. The outside is red, white, and blue, which gives sort of a July 4th feel to them, and the inside is straight blue. The have a good amount of thickness to them, but not too much that you can’t get a grip on what you’re picking up. I plan to used these in my kitchen for a while!
