It needs to be oiled and baked to keep rust away. If maintained properly then it is a great product. Best of all it’s stylish and functional. So no compromising one for the other.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First let me say this pestle set is gorgeous! It's a heavy weight cast iron and looks beautiful on display. It's heavy duty but also has a 25 year warranty!!! The design is easy to hold and grind whatever you're working with. I immediately used it for some ginger to add to a marinade and some pink sea salt for au gratin potatoes I was making. It's amazing how much more flavor you get with fresh ground herbs and spices. Super easy to clean after I was done.

I love to grind fresh garlic and chilli 🌶 everyday literally so this pestle I'd perfect 🥰. Great size and so easy to use. And faster!

Like the look and feel of it, very weighty since it’s cast iron, of course a real mortar and pestle made of volcanic rock I believe is best. It seems pretty durable. Can’t wait to keep using it and see how it goes

It’s beautiful enough to use and then put out at a dinner party, and I really enjoy grinding spices and making guac and pesto in it! The weight of the pestle feels good in my hands, and the texture of the mortar make grinding really easy and consistent. It’s cast iron, so I know it’ll be durable enough to last a lifetime- as long as I keep it dry to prevent rust! The non-stick surface made for super easy clean up. The price is a little steep, but the cost per use will be more than justified in our home!
