Very responsive auto focus for video , even in low light!

Have used this once or twice and the results are very sharp in the centre, but the corners do lag behind, hence the 4 stars instead of 5! Distortion is quite well controlled providing you are not too close to your subject.

I bought this lens about 3 weeks ago and I am very pleased it’s wide but not too wide. I used it for landscape photography at Kew Gardens never changed the lens once for a whole day shoot really pleased

Highly delighted with this lens and results from it are great for my use as an enthusiast photographer, I have no need for G Master lens, nor can I justify their cost as an enthusiast.

This lens is fantastic. It’s small, sharp as you’re want, quick af. It’s very expensive for a non gym prime, but it probably could have been a gm lens. If you want a uwa and don’t rely on absurdly wide for dramatic impact, or if you want to do Astro without spending thousands on a lens, this is a great shout. It’s my favourite wonky lens, and unfortunately the only one without significant flaws (35 1.8 is good for the price, but flawed). If you’re on the fence I’d take this over the 16-35pz, this lens has a wow factor that the ox just doesn’t have. I’m in the process of selling every other Sony branded lens(to buy one gm and pair it with some third party) and will keep this one, it’s a gem. I wish Sony made other non gm lenses that were at least somewhat in the realm of affordable like this one, and weren’t so terribly flawed.

This was recommended to me by several people for astrophotography and it does not disappoint. Its 1.8 aperture allows so much light and makes focusing on stars so much easier. Very little coma.

Bought this lens knowing I’ll only have limited use due to the nature of my photography is in wildlife. But the build & image quality out of it is amazing.

Small compact with full aperture and AF/MF switch. Sony, please make the same for 35mm, 50mm and 85mm G Prime with the same design and at F1.8!

I’ve used the Sony 20mm mainly for landscapes. Fast aperture and very lightweight.

So happy with the performance of this lens, such a joyful lens to shoot and extremely sharp!
