Panasonic LUMIX FZ80D Цифровая камера Point and Shoot

I bought this camera in the beggining of 2025 and its AMAZING, the zoom is incredible and the quality of the pictures are amazing! Be aware that when you go beyond the standard zoom (in this case 60 times) using the AI that the camera has the image looses a little bit of quality, but it still has AWESOME capabilities! I totally recommend it!

I bought this camera despite the many online reviews from people complaining that it takes fuzzy photos. Which it does, if you use Intelligent Auto. In IA mode the camera defaults to facial recognition. I guess that works fine if you're shooting portraits, but who buys a superzoom camera to shoot portraits? For wildlife, birds, and architectural details, it can't find a focal point. The result is a fuzzy photo. Nor does there seem to be any way to switch autofocus modes while remaining in iA. If I switch to Manual mode and set the camera to center focus and center weighted exposure, the results are great. Even at 1200mm! My previous cameras, an FZ300 and an FZ200 were able to focus just fine using iA, even with the teleconverter. I don't know what change Panasonic made to iA for the FZ80D, but it seems to me a firmware upgrade, or rollback, might be worth looking into.

This camera is a great option for starting out photography. The 1200mm tele zoom is more than i'd ever really need, but it's amazing for photographing birds, planes and other far-away objects and animals. It's a great daily-carry camera if you're looking for something better than just a smartphone, although I will note the low-light performance could be better. The app that accompanies the camera is buggy and hard to use at times as well, so I recommend using a physical card reader. Otherwise, a great all-rounder for starting out photography or a daily-carry for experienced photogs.

I have bought 2 of these ,wore the first one out . It doesn’t like to get wet , gets confused ( slow focus) on moving targets, but a nice light camera to carry around in the field. A few upgrades, like a larger sensor, some weather resistance, more pixels, brighter viewfinder would make this a truly awesome piece of gear.

Seems like a great camera, but the FZ80D model lacks wifi. There's no easy way to transfer photos to my cell phone.

This is the best camera!!! Its super worth for the price and the zoom quality is astonishing!!! Congrats to Panasonic for making such a non-expensive camera with such quality and high zoom!!

Yes, the FZ80D is a point-and-shoot camera, but it can deliver excellent results, especially for wildlife photography. For a couple of years I used the FZ80, always in P Mode, and that was fine, but I tried pushing past the "point-and-shoot" label with the FZ80D and have been richly rewarded, especially for wildlife photography. Partnered with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, I can shoot RAW files using Shutter-Priority and Auto-ISO to capture wildlife that P-Mode would never catch. Lightroom is able to "Denoise" the FZ80D's RAW files, making even the top ISO 3200 very useable. Almost all the images I've posted going back to mid-September 2024 at https://jwallphoto.blogspot.com/ were made with the FZ80D. Received this camera as a gift in August; I'm new to photography. I'm using it primarily for birding/nature photography and also general use/city photography. I've basically stopped using my iPhone for photos at this point. I really like this camera's zoom, shooting speed, and ability to take quality photos with no little experience. At this point I'm mostly using the intelligent auto settings but am starting to learn more as I go. The main drawbacks I have found are a relatively quick battery life (maybe around 2-3 hours of pretty continuous use) and lower quality in low light. For a beginner nature camera, I would highly recommend.

Just purchased this camera and discovered it does not have WiFi or Blue Tooth capability, so it is impossible, or extremely difficult, to transfer photos to an iPad or iPhone. A deal breaker for me. Seems to be a very nice camera with great features, but if you can’t easily share your pictures it’s useless, so its going back.

I purchased this camera a few months ago and to my dismay, like another reviewer, discovered it is not WIFI enabled. Who makes a camera in this day and age that is not WIFI enabled? It just seems ridiculous. I also found out that there is no panorama setting. This explains why the camera's price point was so low. This was supposed to be my main camera but now this will end up being my back up as it is lacking in features. Definitely won't be recommending this one to my friends and family.
