Back to Black, Aphrodisiac, was the first Killian bottle I ever purchased and was only sold at Saks in Manhattan. I read a snippet in W magazine that someone wrote saying is smells like sex and I ordered it not knowing what it smelled because I was intrigued…blew me away! Besides coming in a beautiful box, bottle that should never be thrown away…the smell knocked me off my feet! All I thought to myself was, man what a waste if this bottle is empty…REFILLS! I don't recall if they were around then but I had ordered it 10+ years ago and love Killian fragrances and his story.

Normally I don't notice her perfume - just that she smells good. When she wears Black to Black, I take notice. It's almost impossible to describe but is sexy and sweet at the same time. Her supply is running out and we are on a savings plan, but I'm going to surprise her with a bottle on a random day just to tell her that she makes an unremarkable Tuesday remarkable because of who she is every day.

I bought Back to Black over ten years ago based on a review of it in the Oprah magazine. I've never bought a perfume without smelling it first and normally would be hard pressed to spend over $150 on a perfume even if I loved the sample. However, the article about was so enticing that I couldn't resist buying it, and I'm forever grateful that I did. It's mysterious, complex, and dark, but not overpowering. It manages to be both subtle and interesting. I always feel more beautiful when I'm wearing Back to Black. My husband absolutely loves this fragrance and it's one of the few I've worn that always makes him say something about how great I smell. It's definitely my signature scent. I'm down to my last few sprays and don't think I can wait to get this as a Christmas present. In recent times, we've started to really evaluate our spending habits, but this is a purchase that brings me joy every day rather than a pair of shoes, outfit, or bag that I hardly ever use. It's one of very few luxuries that I feel is completely worth the price because it makes every day I wear it feel special. Plus, a little goes a long way. I don't have to reapply to get that delicious scent attached to me all day. I love it when I first apply it, but I am obsessed with how it melts into my skin and smells even better after a couple hours. This is magic in a bottle.

Tue scent is truly vibrant, you can sense all the notes from tue perfume's description and the scent stays long, even if you sprayed it once in the morning. "Back to black" is perfect if you want something spicy, but also sweet- these two are balanced in a perfect way.
