These are beautiful! However there are two reasons they will not work for me. The first is the rough clay bottom. Though very attractive visually and a tactile plus, I am concerned that that rough bottom will damage my countertop, and my glasstop stove, since when cool it becomes additional countertop. In thecreal world, dishes tend to be scooted, pushed, pulled over a countertop. This is also the reason I decided not to ditch my white dishes & go whole hog with this beautiful set. The second reason is that I was hoping the teapot & mugs & tidbit plates would coordinate with my ultra white dishes. They simply do not. The background to the wildflowers set is definitely an off white. The look is too hodgepodge for me.

I love my Wildflower teapot! I just adore the design of the flowers. Went to Macys to look at towels and found the teapot. It was the last one. Lucky me!
