As I wrap up (for now) my journey to all primes in my gear kit, the LUMIX G Series LEICA 42.5mm F1.2 Lens H-NS043 is a fantastic addition. It is easily the sharpest of all the lenses I own. It has a good balance on the camera (G9M2) and is fun to shoot with. I like (and need) the included in lens stabilization, especially in a prime lens this is very welcome. At f1.2 it is very bright/fast and helps make wonderful blurry backgrounds (bokeh). The focal length is great for a variety of shooting situations from nature / landscapes to impactful portraits. The H-NS043 excels at low light situations especially indoors. Because the image is so sharp (and stabilized) I even find myself using the 3X digital zoom on the G9M2 without worrying about a significant loss of quality. The included “house” sample picture is 3X digital zoom from about 300ft away. When not in use, the lens fits nicely into a 3 Inch neoprene 3rd party case, that I can put into a large pocket or clip onto my belt loop. I recommend the H-NS043 to round out your prime collection, and with a 3X digital zoom in stabilization you have an effective 240mm reach in 35mm equivalence. It is very high quality and helps capture very sharp images.

I started this week to carry a GH7 with this lens to school. My college professor colleagues have directory photos which look like wanted posters. Instead I started to take casual face photos before seminars, with this lens from an ideal 4 feet away. Non intruding, allowing them to relax. Telling them to continue talking or explaining or talk to me, or whatever they were doing before, ignoring me, while I took lots of shots. Every third picture or so is perfectly focused on an eye iris, and with the depth of field and bokeh of this amazing lens gives superb, life like dynamic portraits. The camera with this Noctilux lens are now part of my school bag, together with the laptop... This Panasonic Leica 42.5 f1.2 with the zooms 8-18, 12-35, 35-100 gives you to a very portable professional set. Add to that the 200 f2,8 with the 1.4x and 2x extenders and you are in full, and portable, business everywhere.
Fabulous lens. I bought it in Berlin on an expensive whim but then has been great for my film making. Brings magic to the photos. absolutely a magical addition to my holy trinity. the 9mm Leica lens, The Oly 25 1.2 pro, and this 42.5. All fast lens and ready for MFT cinema.
