Since returning from the MidEast, I have been looking for a fragrance similar to the heavy, elegant scents everyone there wears, each unique to the wearer. Ebene has that same quality, so missing from European fragrances. Love it.

I was advised this is a unisex fragrance but I believe it's more on the masculine side. It has a strong intense scent but it is long lasting. I would say this is more of a night scent vs day. "I received this product for free from Balmain for testing and review purposes."

The opening is rich and warm with a smooth woody character that quickly settles into something deep and elegant. It has a polished presence that works especially well in the evening or cooler weather and it definitely feels high quality. Longevity is solid and it projects just enough to be noticed without overwhelming. While it may not be the most adventurous scent in this style, it is beautifully blended and very wearable. I didn't really care for this scent. I was hoping it would be more woody and spicy, but to me it was just incredibly smoky, and not in a pleasant way. I haven't worn it out, it just doesn't work on my skin at all.

From the moment I spritz it on, I'm greeted with this deep, luxurious blend of ebony wood and warm myrrh, giving it that perfectly sophisticated but inviting vibe. As it dries down, the hints of tobacco leaves, incense, and cedarwood create a beautifully rich and complex scent that feels timeless and unique that is not like anything generic you find everywhere.
