I love this outer shell. It is extremely waterproof as are many rain shells. I chose this one specifically because of the pit vents because I intended to wear it with a mid layer and base layer and I need to be able to expel heat quickly when I overheat.
I'm going to return. I did not like how high the pockets were placed but I already have a return in transit since July 17 and hasn't reached the return facility yet. I will call customer service on Monday.

It's light and really waterproof jacket. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 that there's no lining under. Without it fabric sticks to the skin and makes it uncomfortable. Of course if you wear something under it will help. I used the jacket in Costa Rica during rainy season.
Great raincoat that seems truly waterproof yet does not feel like living in a trash bag. Nice fit, and color.
I need a rain jacket to hold a collapsing umbrella. This does the job. Two large inside pockets and the 3 outside pockets are very roomy too.
