I purchased this ornament sight unseen online...which, can be a risk I've found, with Macy's ornaments. Because sometimes you receive the ornament, and it's not similar to the picture online in that it's very cheaply made, has smears of paint on it or is misshapen. I purchased this birdcage ornament when it was on sale and I had a coupon. I don't believe it's worth full price. It's a cute glass enclosure with a simple tree inside It's fairly well painted. I ordered online and received the ornament, which was packed with tissue cushioning it in a small cardboard box (likely the box that Macy's receives from the vendor). Oddly enough, the small ornament box was tossed in a plastic shipping bag to be sent to me. Interesting choice. Which, also, is something that happens (not only with Macy's) where fragile items are not packed and shipped properly. I lucked out and it was not broken.

Traditional and contemporary at the same time. The true Christmas ornament with a beautiful idea: gathering the tree and the lantern - union of indoors and outdoors, light and tree, a family ornament that everyone will enjoy.
