I bought this after getting the Garmin H1 Plus. I returned that unit due to software issues galore. Constant reboots, etc. and just not a good device for the money. I pivoted and got this unit to have a satellite communicator and it's awesome. I had the Mini 2 and this is a good upgrade to that device. Peace of mind when the kids go out hiking that they can at least communicate with us and I have it in the car when travelling. Overall, I like the portability of this unit. If they would upgrade the maps on this unit, I think this could be a better unit overall. Great unit and recommend it.

This was a long overdue upgrade, but I am glad I waited for the plus. I am loving the ability to send pictures to my wife on remote flights!

I bought the inReach Mini 3 before my Camino de Santiago trip in Spain and I loved it. Since this was an endurance hike I set the reporting at 20 minutes and the battery lasted for more than a day. I sometimes used the Mini 3 for two days before charging it. The Mini 3 is very intuitive to learn and use and the weight was minimal. I clipped it to the backpack and rarely notice it was there. The Mini 3 is a marked improvement over the Mini 2, which I still own. Good job Garmin!

Big upgrade from the Mini 2. The Mini 3 Plus is a little larger, but honestly, you don't notice the additional weight whatsoever when carrying it on the trail. The larger color touchscreen makes the unit much easier to use without constantly pulling out my phone and using the app, which also helps conserve my phone battery. Battery life has been excellent. On my first trip I had it powered on and tracking for about 10 hours and only used around 12% of the battery. This was in the High Sierra with heavy tree coverage, deep valleys, and high granite walls. Messaging was also noticeably improved. Messages went out quickly and replies came back quickly, even in areas where I would normally expect delays because of terrain or tree coverage. Overall, I'm very impressed with the Mini 3 Plus. The touchscreen, battery life, and reliable messaging make it a significant upgrade over my Mini 2. So far, I'm extremely happy with the performance.

I only hate the tiny little keyboard.. LOL. Everything else is super great. I feel safer. i bought an extra for my sister too.

One of the best minis Garmin has made absolutely love it. Specially, the voice messages and the pictures through the satellite. Keep up the good work.

Used this for the first time in the national forest where we have never had cell reception (We've camped out here for 50 years with no cell reception). It worked beautifully! It took a few minutes at times for the communication to go through, but what a relief to know we could communicate with someone back in civilization. This could make a difference between getting help to us and being in a real serious position. I don't normally give reviews for ANY product, but have been so impressed with this little gizmo. We had tried Starlink and couldn't even get it to receive in the middle of our cul de sac at home. Five stars for Garmin!

I bought the mini 3 plus because the family went hiking in an area with no cell service. I taught the wife and kids how to use it beyond the intuitive emergency feature. I did realize at that moment that “one hand operation in an emergency to uncover the button to uncover then push the button is difficult. If anybody actually reads this feedback then can you reach out to me and share the secret to one handed operation? Thank you. Tyler Kahdeman

Bought this for solo bike packing trips into the remote wilderness of Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Canada. Has worked flawlessly and kept family and friends aware of my whereabouts and health. Also provides an opportunity for motivational messages to be received when times are really tough on trips. I purchased the Premium plan to prevent worrying about overage costs. So glad I’ve got this device with me and so are my loved ones.
