After using some budget rice cookers for the past few years, my partner and I love this Zojirushi. The sound that the timer makes when the rice starts cooking and when it stops is really cute. We also appreciate that it can handle more types of rice and grains than our previous rice cookers and that it has a warm function that can hold the rice for a long period of time. The results of each batch have also been really consistent and we like the spatula that helps preserve the nonstick coating.

everything about this cooker is top of the line. rice was not part of our diet growing up but when i explored cooking it as a young adult and ruined many efforts at making edible rice, i did the research and discovered zojirushi cookers! now at age 80, i just got my third iteration of the same model. it produces perfect rice and all grains every time. no staring at a boiling pan, no flops. i'm especially thrilled with the addition of designated steel cut oats and GABA cooking options. this rice cooker has become a lifelong favorite!

Cancel leave home without it. Years ago, I saw a lady in Las Vegas coming out of the hotel carrying her rice cooker. I thought that was crazy. What the heck? Now when I go away for a weekend, friends or vacations, I take my brand spanking new rice cooker.The consistent quality of cooked rice and Steel Cut Oatmeal make look like a professional.

This broke after a few months of usage and Zojirushi told me that I had to pay to get it repaired. I had heard of the good quality of these rice cookers, so I was very disappointed for this to happen.

I grew up using this brand rice cooker (I am 60 years old). We had the basic ones growing up. About 20 years ago, I started to buy the more expensive ones. They are worth it. When my daughters moved out of the house, the one thing they asked a rice cooker - particularly this brand. The rice is always cooked well, rice stays warm until you turn the machine off, it is easy to use so you always know not to worry about getting great rice. If you really enjoy japanese sticky rice, i highly recommend you purchase this product.

So far I’ve made brown rice, GABA brown, steel cut oats, and a grain blend, and they’ve all turned out fantastically! It’s so nice to be able to set it up and walk away, or use the timer to have it ready whenever I want. It’s made meal prep less stressful. Definitely recommend!

I purchased this for the GABA brown rice setting (maybe it will help lower my LDL) and for the steel cut oats setting. And I am not at all disappointed. Fluffiest rice and oats I have ever had (the McC...s brand; not the quick cooking stuff). Can make enough for leftovers that can actually be eaten on the second day. Size is perfect (fits nicely on the top shelf of the cabinet where lost sox go). Easy to clean up. And energy efficient. Will try all the settings at some point. Amazed at how many Zojirushi cookbooks there are out there, too.
