The handle is very soft. The grater surface is made of glass fiber and silicone. It will easily and quickly grate ginger, garlic, citrus and more. Clean up is a breeze. Rinse and handwashing until next use.

It works well. I wanted a plastic grater because I'm scared of the metal ones. This one gets the work done but I don't like that the food gets stuck in it and you have to beat it out if it.
