Vioz Lux GTX RR

This boot is the reason Zamberlan is easily the best boot for backpacking on the market. I had a pair of 996 Vioz for the last 10 years and recently upgraded to the Vioz Lux and wow, same great fit with even better durability! The quality is 2nd to none. I love the rubber toe bumpers on these boots versus the regular Vioz. Best about the boot is the fit and foot support, it is better than anything I've experienced. These boots are stiff like a backcountry backpacking boot should be, but not too stiff, making them more comfortable. I've tried pretty much every brand in the market, but nothing has worked as well for me as Zamberlan. My friends don't believe me when I tell them how great their boots are until they try them, which is usually followed by a big "thank you, they are absolutely amazing, I didn't know boots could be this good". I do own 8 pair of Zamberlan for this reason and they have never let me down. If you haven't tried them I highly recommend it. As far as fit, I pretty much order 1/2 size smaller than my running shoe size. I wear size 12 in Nike and size 11.5 in Zamberlan boots. I use the sizing charts on Zamberlan's website which are pretty good.

These boots remind me if the “Original” Vasque boots before they out-sourced their manufacturing to china. Zamberlan has a great product ! I could immediately feel the fine quality of these Boots as soon as I laid my hands on them. The boots fit great and wear very well for a rigid terrain boot. I like the sole pattern and I can feel the traction it gives when you need it. I will be putting these shoes through the ringer in the near future and expect they will perform well. I will be revisiting the review section at the end of summer to give an update.

They appear to have great quality. The fit great when I first put them on - the leather is great workmanship and the calf leather around the ankle is great. Unfortunately, as soon as I tried to walk in them, i noticed hot spots just behind the toes when I tried to bend the leather. It may have broke in over time, but the flex of the boot was right at one of shoelace eyelets, so that metal eyelet was pushing into my foot when I tried to walk. I'm ordering a pair of the regular Vioz Lux as they come with a wide option to see if that wider foot solves this issue.

I think Zamberlans tend to be wide never the less I bought larger size for extra width. Quality is great but their customer service is worthless.

I bought this boot after owning the original 996 for 10+ years. I expect even better performance from these with the leather on the inside upper. Very good looking too. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend these boots! I live and work in the Pacific Northwest. I have been into the foothills of the North Cascades and my feet stayed warm and dry. I have walked my dog daily eight miles along Puget Sound beaches. Again warm and dry. My feet have never felt this great after wearing boots or any shoe for 12 hours a day. Side note they look rad!

I have wide feet but they fit well. They are stiff which I prefer in a boot but not so stiff that walking is difficult. However the leather used is of poor quality the left boot has deep cracks above the toe area. This also happened with other Zamberlans. Probably bey last pair as their customer service is non existent.

I heard a lot of great things about these boots they look great I got them home and there is a hard spot on the inside area of the arch of my foot I thought they would break in I wore them on a couple hikes and they never did my feet literally bruised from wearing these foolishly I waited too late to be able to take them back and although only used on three or four hikes The toe ends came apart . A lot of money down the drain

These boots are very well made and worth the price. The support is excellent both in the arch and on the ankle. Strings are just the right length. I can see them lasting many years even with hard use, and they can be resoled. Would buy again.
