Do not buy these shoes. I bought for my six year old and she wore for one week of camp and the entire top and sides are frayed. Other than the quality of the outer part of the shoe, they are waterproof.

This shoe has been a great all purpose shoe for my kids. They hike, run, climb trees, splash puddles, but also wear to school everyday. The Velcro makes it easy for my 4 year old to put on by himself with plenty of confidence. I also sized a quarter inch bigger for his foot to grow into and since the shoe is so solid his foot doesnt slide around or slip off. The width of the shoe is all a major feature its very important for me to have shoes that have room for his little toes to move around and not be constricted. Will be buying again!!

Do not buy these shoes. I bought for my six year old twins and both pairs frayed within a week of wearing them.
