My husband can wear a 2E in some athletic shoes, but these 4E weren't wide enough across the toes. He felt pinched in them, at the little toe places. Asics just needs to round out the toe shape in their shoes - why are they still stuck on their old time pointy toes? This Cumulus is true to length and has pretty good lateral/arch support.

I've owned a pair of Asiscs for a few years and they are very, very comfortable sneakers. These, the Cumulus 27's, are crap. The uppers are very thin and the tongue is made from some kind of cheap foam. They were fairly comfortable for the first day or so but became very , very uncomfortable after I wore them for a couple days - much the opposite of what a decent sneaker would do. After two days they caused blistering on the top of my right foot at the base of my big toe. Unfortunately, I had been wrong initially about the comfort of these and I wore them outside before any discomfort happened. I will throw these away, my bad for buying them.
This has been my go to shoe model for the past 15 years. So far, Ive had 25 miles of running with this years model since purchase, the feel and the fit was what I was expecting.
