The superior 6 is my all time favorite hiking/trail runner - the superior 7 did not disappoint. I was so worried that pretty much the only shoe that gives me no foot pain would be ruined in the latest refresh but quite the opposite, they fixed the main problem with the 6 - namely by extending the non-mesh component of the shoe over the big doe where my big toe nail would always cut through the mesh. It is just as comfortable and seems to even fit the top of my foot a bit better with the changed tongue design. In short, I love it, and if you love the 6 don't hesitate to go with the 7. For reference - I am a regular hiker, doing between 10-15 mile casual hikes on weekend mornings and 20-26 mile hikes for my longer day hikes. I also backpack quite a bit - about 4 times per month in the shoulder seasons.

NOT narrow like other reviewer described. These are the perfect balance of Altras. I use them for daily wear when I want, and could easily run road or trail with them. Plenty of support.
While these sneakers fit well, the bottoms were so flat that I almost felt like I was going to fall over backwards! They were shaped like feet are and that felt weird.
Narrow. So, so narrow. I can’t believe how narrow these shoes are. By far the narrowest Altras I’ve tried. Think you’re getting Altras? No, these are Narrow Altras. Completely useless to the wide-footed.
Perfect fit and weight. So glad I bought them.
