purchase a lot from zappos, this was the worst shoe I ever tried on. the quality was so poor. the price does not come close to what you are getting. ordered merrells. never can go wrong with them.

Great Lightweight Hiker: I've been on the lookout for a mid-height, lightweight hiker in non-waterproof style and there aren't many options in this category! I've now been on a few short hikes with the Katabatic and come away impressed with the breathability, lightweight and grip on the tread. However this is my first pair of Oboz and the fit is. . . unique. Feels roomy throughout with a fairly large heel cup, generous midfoot and wide toebox. I wish Obox made a regular and "wide" version of the shoe as it all feels a bit loose. I do have fairly low volume feet that are flat-ish and narrow so I've liked Asolo boots and La Sportiva in the past. Also the tongue is really really thin, (way less substantial than my running shoes) so I did feel the laces more than I expected when trying to cinch it down to create a tighter fit. Overall great shoe and appears to be built very well but if you don't have big ankles and wide feet you might struggle to make them snug enough.

Epic Boot: Awesome light weight boot! I use these in my profession career down in south Texas and they are awesome light weight boots for Search and Rescue. They have plenty of support but also breath which is ideal for the hot and humid summers in southern Texas.
