Drybar has gone through several formula changes of the prep rally. I've used the original one for years and loved it. It detangled my hair and left it feeling soft with bounce and shine and did a great job at heat protection. All the while feeling like I had nothing in my hair and no weigh down either. My daughter had a bottle of this version (Pina Colada scent) so I decided to try it, with bad results. First of all, I'm not scent sensitive, but the smell was nauseating. It detangled my hair but left it completely weighed down and left a greasy film on it. My hair would not hold a curl either, never had this problem with the original. Hard pass.

I don't understand the hype at all - this does nothing for my hair. Sure, it may be protecting it from heat but in terms of any shine, conditioning, smoothness, texture, etc - zero.
