No.04 Bois de Balincourt Eau de Parfum

I got several fragrance samples through the Sephora Favorites sample packs. I haven’t even tried the majority of them yet because this one is so good. It’s spicy, cozy, and rich—without that typical gourmand base. I love that it’s unique but still subtle. My annoyingly picky husband approves, although he’s not as sold on the salty note as I am! Goes great with the limited edition Method Chai Santal body wash, BBW’s Bounty Hunter, JPG’s Divine, and Nest Cardamom Latte.

This smells like a cozy, clean woodsy hug. It’s warm, soft, and not overpowering at all. I love it for everyday because it feels effortless and comforting without trying too hard. It doesn’t scream when you walk into a room, but people notice it when they’re close. If you’re into earthy, unisex scents that feel calm and chic, this one’s a go-to. This was received as a part of an educational promotion.

I love this. It smells like a cool aunt with a gorgeous beach house. It can easily go from a cool summery sandalwood scent to a warm fall/winter cozy fragrance. It is warm, woody with a hint of spice, and effortlessly cool. It layers well, and someone always tells me I smell good when I wear it. No. 4 is such a keeper.

The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that it’s a little on the subtle side for me. I personally like my fragrances to make a bit more of a “hey, I’m here!” statement. But honestly, that subtlety might be perfect if you’re looking for something classy and not too in-your-face. Packaging is beautiful too, very sleek, minimalist, and makes me feel fancy every time I pull it out. Overall, Maison Louis Marie No.04 is a gorgeous, elegant fragrance that smells expensive (without breaking the bank) and is perfect for daily wear. Just maybe don’t expect to be stopping traffic. All in all, this is a nice, well-balanced fragrance. It has a warm, woody scent that is subtle and sophisticated. The perfume lasts a decent amount of time and is suitable for everyday wear.

This perfume has a strong woodsy scent that really stands out. Woodsy isn’t my favorite scent, but if you enjoy that style of fragrance, you’ll definitely like this one. One spray is truly all you need — it lasts all day without fading.

Concentration and longevity are more like Eau de Toilette, but not Eau de Parfum. I compare with the tester I received from Sephora earlier. Thanks to Sephora return policy, I returned it. The scent is fantastic, but... it vanished from my skin after 4 hours - not the best option for someone who used to high concentration fragrances.

Bois de Balincourt is the kind of scent that lives on your skin like a memory—warm woods, soft spice, and that addictive sandalwood haze that feels both intimate and mysterious. It’s subtle, sensual, and quietly hypnotizing. I’ve been wearing this scent nearly every day, and it’s grown on me in the best way. At first spray, you get warm woody notes of sandalwood and cedar that feel cozy and grounding, like a forest walk after rain. As it settles, hints of vetiver, nutmeg, and amber wood emerge, giving it a subtle spicy–earthy depth without being overpowering. 

Reading others reviews on this product emphasizes how important it is to try things for yourself. I purchased the traveling size bottle to test this product out and I’m honestly so in love with it that my friend has already bought me a big bottle. Everyone’s PH is different, so perfumes will smell differently on everyone. This is officially one of my staple perfumes. It lasts the entire day on me, on my clothes, and the smell is just DIVINE.

One of the best woody fragrances in the world. If you love the smell of fresh wood and sandalwood, take it. I mix it with Jo Malone Hinoki & Cedarwood and it creates the aroma of luxury spa in Colorado

This is a good fragrance to have in passing, but it doesn’t knock my socks off. It’s great to have in your collection if you’re a woody girl but nothing memorable.
