Mini Step 1 Primer Shine Control

So far this matte primer is the only one that has worked for me (to some extent) and I have literally tried almost every single one! I like that they have the mini version as it is quite expensive and I use it quite frequently. I would say it’s not a primer for the full face as it does cause makeup application to be hard to blend. I use it for my forehead and nose because I don’t put any makeup on my forehead and nose. Those are also my oiler parts.

I've used many mattifying primers (Fenty - old one and new one, Danessa Myricks - both, Milk, Smashbox, etc.) and I keep coming back to this one! It works with my skincare and foundations - never pills. Keeps me matte alll day.

If you don't have oily skin, it may not flow over your skin. It works WONDERS for me and my oily skin!

I have a really oily t-zone and got this to try for my brothers wedding. I used a pea sized amount and applied to my t-zone, forehead and chin and it made a huge difference! Makeup didn’t separate and I got a lot of compliments on my skin. Love this product, 10/10, would recommend

How to use - less is more with this primer. Sephora has a “how to use” on their page & so do the makeup brand websites - that’s how the product works best. I’m an OILY big PORED gal. And this has worked wonders for me when nothing else has. Once all my moisturizer is absorbed on my face I do this: - rice/pea sized amount (if for entire face) rub between fingers slightly then dab on face AFTER makeup is done (tap lightly - you should not be rubbing this on your face) - I apply to my oily zones (basically everywhere LOL) eyelids, forehead, between brows. - Note: this product is probably leaving white cast or patchy for you because you are smearing the product on and not tapping. AND/OR, using way too much product. I get 0% oily in the day. It is actually magic in a tube. I had the full size for over a year & a half with 5 days a week usage. And just got the mini for travel.

This keep me matte! I use this primer with the makeup forever HD foundation. But I noticed if i rub the primer too much into my skins it creates this week texture and ends up on my hands.

After fully using this product it left me confused. I would apply after my moisturizer and it would leave some spots on my skin with a white spot. Super weird but once I fixed it I had no other issues with this product. Do with that as you will!

This is supposed to be a step 1 for makeup but honestly this is a good no makeup or no foundation day go to. Smells amazing and leaves skin so smooth and soft. Very pricey though, wish there was a sale on it, I got it in my birthday bag a couple years ago and lost it in a move, was asking all the cashiers what it could have been because I forgot the name and no primer has compared since and none could figure out what I was talking about. But once I finally found it earlier this year that price hurt big time lol especially since I just bought a primer stick and a primer base that I can’t stand. Waited til Black Friday, if it’s not on sale on cyber Monday then I guess I’ll just bite the bullet. I’m in my thirties so I don’t wear fpundation like I used to, this along with a good bronzer/blush/highlighter stick and face lotion makes a perfect look for me.
