Lip Suede Hydrating Matte Lipstick with Hyaluronic Acid

Ma Biche shade Pros: -super saturated -hydrating -long lasting: lasted and did not smear for 6 hours, yes I drank and ate during that time (no lip liner since I was in a rush) -I'm crazy for red lipstick. I have everything from drug store to high end brands in my collection, and I gotta say this shade is beyond gorgeous. It truly stands out. Simply stunning. Cons: -Arrived with the tip messed up against the cap. -Has a terrible subtle odor. Like we're talking chemical/smelly feet?? And this is brand new. -I find the case design to be too bulky so I do struggle a bit more during application Definitely not worth $50.

As much as I love other Westman Atelier products the Lip Suede Matte was not one of them. The lipstick feels beautiful going on but staying on….it did not. Being Matte and Hydrating just doesn’t work/. I bought the Lip liner as well and again as great as it feels going on it came off almost immediately. Unfortunately, I’ve tried different ways to get it to stay on but nothing seem to work/ Any ideas? Almost $100 spent on something I’ll never be able to wear again.

I’m usually not a fan of opaque lipsticks, because they tend to be drying and often feel heavy on my lips. These Westman Atelier lipsticks are very hydrating and moisturizing even without my BIOSSANCE lip balm that I usually have to apply before using opaque lipsticks. These WA lipsticks feel very light on my lips and are so very creamy. I don’t agree with the description as matte, I think they are demi-matte, but not shiny or shimmery. I have 4 opaque lipsticks from WA and I reach out for them every time I want an opaque lip look. I stopped using the other opaque lipsticks, since they are drying. The last colour I purchased is MINX. A very beautiful peony pink that lights up my whole face. Lovely shade, dreamy texture!

This is my second shade in this formula and it’s so soft and pretty. I love this formula and would purchase more shades.

I bought this while it was on sale and I absolutely love the color and feel of this on my lips! Yes this is a matte lipstick, but it feels like velvet. This is now in my bag everyday!

Je Reve is a beautiful blushy shade that is great for a more muted but still pinky lip that looks great on my light-neutral olive skin. This is the most comfortable formula I’ve ever tried for this type of finish. I would probably characterize this as more of a demi-matte. The packaging design is super luxe and even has a mirror inside the cap (although it is so small for me that it’s not super functional), so I do feel like part of this price tag is just having this weighty tube of lipstick with a magnetic closure and maybe not the best value for $50. I also own this in the Pique shade, and should really wait for the Sephora sale to buy additional shades. .

I really love this but it has a texture that's borderline grainy that might really throw people off. Definitely test in store before you buy to see if it bothers you. But for a matte lipstick it's not drying at all and it has great staying power.

The lipstick broke just days after I purchased it. It wouldn’t twist up, so I wasn’t able to access or apply the product. Beautiful bottle but useless .

I bought two when they just launched directly from the brand, I could not stand the taste and smell of the product and the colors didn't suit me, so I barely used them, would just occasionally take them out to see if I can do something with them. One day they both stopped twisting, apparently the twisting mechanism broke in the bullet, I threw them both out and these are supposed to be refillable bullets.

I spent $150 on the Westman Atelier lipstick trio, and the lipsticks don’t even twist up, completely unusable straight out of the box. After researching, I found many others reporting the exact same defect. Meanwhile, customers who bought through Nordstrom were able to get immediate exchanges for the same problem. For a luxury-priced product, selling something that doesn’t even function is unacceptable. I will not be purchasing from this brand again and would strongly caution others before buying.
