Did nothing for me and maybe even broke me out. I just like the packaging and that when you put it on it seems it’ll be sticky but it isn’t. But I started breaking out and when I stopped using it I stopped!
This did not work for me. After a “purge” phase about 3.5-weeks into daily use where my acne got worse, I never saw it improve. I’m an adult with hormonal, cystic acne.
I really really wanted this product to work. Instead, it caused some kinda reaction on my skin- leading to horrible itchy painful ugly rash like dermatitis on my cheeks, chin and jawline. I had to spend hundreds of dollars on dermatologists and prescriptions to mitigate what happened to my skin...I am typing this on my birthday at home alone crying because my skin is so horrible and itchy. I have never had a reaction like to a product and I have never considered my skin sensitive before.
The old version of this serum worked so well. The new version is noticeably less potent and there seems to be a lot less of it as I ran out of my last bottle of serum twice as quickly as I used to. I guess I am going to keep using it for now for lack of a better alternative but I am not pleased with the changes at all.
I had horrible cystic and hormonal acne. I’ve been using retinol before this, but I hated all of the side effects.. this stuff works so much better than anything I’ve ever tried. I have been using it for six weeks and all of it is gone with no side effects
My son has been using the Serum twice per day for several months, and this is his only face product which helps him manage teen acne. He is surviving puberty with help from Phyla!
The old formula of phyla was a godsend — it was the only thing that worked. I don’t know why, but their new formula doesn’t work like that, and I struggle to manage my acne now. Also, I wish the company would be transparent about what they changed, but there’s nothing addressing explaining this on their site (just an email saying it’s new and improved - yeah, right. The old formulae needed refridgeration, and it worked.
If you have sensitive skin, please avoid this product! The past 4-5 months I have been getting breakouts and bumps/some acne on my face, so after doing some research I decided to give this product a try. After a few days, my breakouts & rosacea got worse. After consistent use for 2 weeks (didn't use anything else other than this + the Phyla moisturizer) nothing improved and I started getting itchy. I reached out to Phyla and they recommended that I stop use. Needless to say, if your skin is generally fine apart from a few bumps and you have sensitive skin, I would avoid this product. I think this is literally meant for very acne-prone & thick skin. I don't think this is a common reaction, as I've only seen like 4-5 people online have a similar experience as me, but please be careful!
I left the packaging on this product. It allows you to open and close it without wasting any product and it’s very satisfying. I’ve noticed moderate improvement in my cystic acne since starting to use it. It has a nice feeling on the skin. Definitely worth a try.
I love this serum. I would get hormonal acne around my chin and nose - deep acne that hurt and would take time to surface. Since using this serum, my acne is cleared and I ensure I continue to use it to keep the acne at bay - and it WORKS!
