Buffer Jelly Facial Oil-Gel for Barrier Support with Ceramides

I love Experiment as a brand, and Super Saturated is my favorite skincare product of 2026. I had high hopes for this, but the packaging of Buffer Jelly unfortunately overshadows the actual product. Like other reviewers have mentioned, it comes in a hard plastic "squeeze" bottle that requires a lot of pressure to actually squeeze. As someone who experiences joint stiffness in my fingers, I don't think I'll buy again. This product isn't very accessible for people with joint issues, arthritis, or other limiting factors to their grip strength.

I like it but the bottle is so tiny for the price. I was honestly surprised when I received my first bottle.

My skin is so glowy and hydrated after using this product. I like to use this on my exfoliating nights or of if I feel like my skin barrier is off.

I love this oil blend as my last step in my PM skin care to lick everything in. It works great with my tretinoin and helps me avoid some of the skin irritation. Sometimes I put another occlusive on top if I really want something extra. I have oily acne prone skin and this does not cause break outs. I’m on my second bottle of this. It lasts a long time!

I added the Super Saturated serum and this, mixed into my evening moisturizer, to my routine this winter and this is probably the best that my skin has held up over this time of year in a long time. Five stars for the product itself. The packaging is so poor, though. For all of the innovation that it seems Experiment is putting into their products, this hard squeeze bottle was so poorly thought out. This is about as forgiving as a product could be in this type of package (i.e. not too thick or viscous) but why on earth a squeeze bottle that can't be squeezed? My technique that basically works: I take the cap off, give it one good downward shake (like trying to get the last of a condiment from the bottom toward the top of a nearly empty bottle) and then I can control the dispensed amount pretty well. That said, my bottle is relatively full, so I have no idea how it's going to be when I've gone through more of the product. Anyway, please fix this, Experiment!

I have hEDS so my skin’s barrier needs extra attention and this oil is perfect for that. Unfortunately it’s a little bit difficult to get out of the bottle if you have weak hands and/or unstable joints in your fingers (or at least it is for me). I really hope that the packaging is improved so it’ll be easier to use.

Texture is like a balmy, gel. It definitely leaves an occlusive layer on the skin, but I personally like the consistency of an oil or balm for my dry skin. Like other reviews mention, the packaging is horrible. It’s a squeeze bottle that is so hard to compress. You end up squeezing out too little or too much product. Compared to other products that can be used for slugging, the price for this is not insignificant - especially for the tiny size. Despite liking the formula, the price and packaging will keep me from repurchasing.

Obsessed with this entire brand. So good for Hydration and barrier relief!! I have every product of theirs and am waiting for more!

Great product for dry skin. I use this twice a day over my moisturizer, and it works well to keep my face hydrated, especially under makeup. Doesnt pill or interfere with makeup.

I LOVE this product as a last step in my nighttime routine. My dry, flaky tret skin genuinely needed this. -I saw a review say “not too greasy” & I disagree lol. It’s not like....."ruin your pillow-greasy"- but if your hair isn't put up it's- "you'll need a wash-greasy." The only thing i can really compare it to is a petroleum jelly slug at the end of the night, but this product makes my skin look & feel better than the jelly alone ever did. Now, i took off a star for the packaging alone. It's ugly, yes, but it's mostly because having to squeeze out that super thick product out of a plastic oval isn't super efficient. It's kinda tough to do & u never know how hard to squeeze for the amount of product you need. Idk I despise the packaging but love the product.
