Calming Barrier Serum for the Appearance of Redness with Green Tea + Panthenol

Used this serum for a year and loved it and then all summer I’ve been having issues with rashes and irritation and red bumps breakouts everything you could think of. Shame on me I didn’t think to check my skincare’s own label for reformulation but realized that this was reformulated and Sephora didn’t update the ingredients on the website and I didn’t check the box just the website so for anyone with sensitive skin, sensitivity to niacinamide or fungal acne stay clear!

This has been my holy grail serum for 3+ years and when Sephora started carrying Beauty of Joseon, I was happy to order it on auto-replenish. However, the bottle I received most recently gave me a stinging sensation upon application which has never happened before. After checking the product box, I realized that it has a COMPLETELY different ingredients list from my previous bottles and from what is listed in the description on the Sephora product page. The addition of macadamia ternifolia oil makes it NOT fungal acne safe and I suspect the newly added niacinamide is also a culprit in making my skin sting as I have never gotten along well with it. Incredibly disappointing and misleading.

This has helped with hydration a little, and maybe even slightly with redness. But it’s not amazing. It’s not sticky, which I do like, but overall it feels like an extra step with minimal benefits for my skin. I had no negative side effects. No breakouts. It's cheap enough to give it a go. But I wouldn't repurchase this.

My skin has been dry, breaking out and fairly dull. I added this barrier cream to my nightly routine about two weeks ago. I’ve not only seen a difference but I feel it as well.

Second, zero fragrance (that I can smell anyway)…also fantastic! Downside, it leaves a tacky finish when it dries down. The drip top is great for applying. It did help my redness slightly.

I have always had an issue with redness but after a couple weeks of testing this out, I can confidently say that my skin feels smoother, calmer and healthier. It has a good consistency and light scent. It absorbs into my skin within seconds. It makes my skin feel so clean and perfect. Overall, I am very satisfied with this serum.

It is a tiny amount of product, especially considering it doesn’t seem to do much. It has some nice and natural plant derived ingredients. But there are other similar products that I prefer to this one that seem to calm my skin down better.

This did absolutely nothing for me, as a matter of fact, I actually think it l dried my skin out more. The price is great for a product, but that’s it. I’m not a fan of the bottle either. It’s plastic. Not glass which is what you’d expect. Remember, my review is my review. All skin is different so try it out because it might be a game changer for you.
