Amber Labdanum Cologne Intense

As a long time Jo Malone user, I have a small collection that I alternate depending on the mood. I prefer lighter sweeter scents so I don’t think I’ll be using this one, but it had a very rich and expensive smell like all other products from the brand. It was a strong lasting scent which is a pro with any fragrance. However, it wasn't a scent I enjoyed, very ambery. One spray was intense and can be smelled from a distance. It can linger in the air too, long after the person wearing it walks by. I would say this is more of a male fragrance, not gender neutral. I gifted it to a male friend. I wasnt a fan of the smell, but if amber fragrances are your thing, then this might be perfect for you. A huge pro was the longevity. This is a gorgeous fragrance. I received it for free and the minute I sprayed it, I thought it smelled great…but it’s definitely for a man. It’s also very strong and long lasting.

I literally never write reviews so buckle up because I'm passionate enough about this product to do so. I purchased this fragrance because my friend uses the Hinoki & Cedar intense from Jo Malone and I appreciate how intense it is. I sprayed the Hinoki one on my wrist in the store and it lasted 3 days and 2 showers! But I didn't love the fragrance on me. I have a sample pack of the travel size Jo Malone regular (not intense) scents and have not been impressed with either the smells or the longevity. Backstory - I truly hate floral fragrances; they give me the worst headache and really just aren't my vibe. I have always preferred more musky scents. My best friend always smells good and when I asked her what she wears, she said Amber that comes in a roller ball from Whole Foods. I bought it and love it on me as well but it just doesn't last. When the Amber Jo Malone fragrance came out, I knew I had to try it which I also never buy fragrances without trying them in person but Sephora's return policy is amazing so I took the risk. Holy cow you guys - this is my new signature fragrance and I literally don't want to wear anything else. I would caution against taking to heart all the reviews that mention this is more for men. Who cares, I like what I like. And I LOVE this fragrance. It's clean in that it doesn't have too much going on, sensual, dark, mysterious, and strong - not easily overpowered by dry shampoo or other smells. If you prefer the smell of incense over roses, just buy it. I can't freaking believe at 41 that I finally found a fragrance that is ME.

This perfume has a very intense presence, so much so that it actually gave me a headache after a while. That said, the scent itself isn’t bad at all, it’s bold, rich, and clearly well-crafted. I think it could work better in very small doses or for someone who enjoys strong, statement fragrances. Overall, not a bad scent just a bit overwhelming for my taste. This was super strong, a very intense smell to it. I sprayed once in the morning and it lasted for at least 4-5 hours for me and a couple more hours it just lingered on. It felt like more men's cologne than for woman-or-gender neutral. I wouldn't wear this on a daily basis, it's not like for a special occasion where others wouldn't mind the strong fragrance. But I love most about this scent is that it smells phenomenal and last all day very very long wear it smells unisex. It could be good for him or her and I did receive this for a review.

I’ve bee using this cologne for a few months and wow it is amazing. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. It smells very ambery and woody but it’s not an overwhelming scent.
