I normally do not like patchouli scented things…. But this is different. The Cyklar roll on perfume oil is warm, vanilla, musky, and earthy. It has been perfect for layering and even on its own. It truly lasts al day and has great projection. I wish this came in a spray!
I wanted to love this perfume oil, but the scent just wasn’t for me. It has a warm, earthy fragrance with noticeable vanilla and patchouli notes. I like that it’s easy to apply directly to pulse points and feels lightweight on the skin, but the scent came across a little too strong and earthy for my personal preference. If you enjoy deeper, warm fragrances, you may really like this one, but it wasn’t my favorite.
Here are my honest thoughts on the Modern Patchouli perfume oil: this fragrance is definitely vanilla absolute forward on my skin, with a warm and sweet finish. I personally get more of a vanilla musk than a strong patchouli scent, but I really enjoy it! I love the rollerball applicator, and the longevity is definitely a plus. It lasts beautifully throughout the day, and it’s also a great fragrance for layering with other scents. If you love warm, sweet, musky fragrances, this one is definitely worth trying! An added plus is the size, I can put it in my small handbags or a clutch without any issues… A little goes a long way.
I liked the idea of the fragrance, but not really the execution. It’s sweet and nutty but also earthy at the same time, which confuses my brain a lot. I think it’s the pistachio and coconut water notes that make it funky in my opinion. It doesn’t work with my skin chemistry, but the scent is pretty long lasting with a small scent bubble. The bottle was also slanted. It stood up but not straight and felt like it could easily tip over.

It has that warm, earthy depth you expect from patchouli, but it feels modern, smooth, and surprisingly easy to wear rather than overly heavy or “hippie.” I really like the perfume oil format because it sits close to the skin and feels more intimate than a traditional fragrance spray. The scent develops beautifully as you wear it, becoming warm and slightly creamy while still keeping that distinctive patchouli character.
The truth is I didn't like it very much, it wouldn't be something I would use. The smell is a little strong and between the patchouli and the vanilla you can't distinguish one smell or the other. Maybe it will serve as a fragrance for men, I feel that it has a more masculine smell. I can highlight that the smell lasts a long time and the applicator is quite comfortable and practical.
This is the perfect fall scent. It smells rich and luxurious. I get the pistachio note immediately followed by vanilla and patchouli. It’s a strong scent and long lasting on my skin. It would be perfect for a date night.
Love this perfume oil! It’s so strong and it’s such a nice scent. What I love is ir doesn’t give me a headache and it’s soo good I get so many compliments on it and I highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a solid perfume oil
I gave the Cyklar Modern Patchouli Perfume Oil a try, and while the scent wasn’t really my personal style, I was impressed by how long it lasted on my skin. Patchouli can be a little strong for me, but if you love deeper, earthy scents, this could definitely be one to try. The longevity was definitely a plus!
