Best Hing Ever, 20 g

Quality product made of fresh ingredients. The taste and smell remind me of green onions. I use about a 1/4 tsp in my stew. It's great for Indian recipes (sometimes you'll see it refered to as asafoetida). The size of the package is small, but since you need so little, one bottle can make a lot of food.

It definitely has flavor, only a small pinch is needed. I read about it online first and was sure to only use a small pinch in a large meal prep. Unfortunately, after eating for a few days, I noticed a change in my body odor. I could smell the Hing when I sweat, mostly in my pits. I'm not sure this happens for everyone, probably there's a genetic component. Giving 5 stars bc the product is as advertised, no issues with quality or taste. Just be sure to keep an eye out for changes in odor after you start eating it.

I've never tried hing before, and really wanted to. It is DEFINITELY strong flavored, and strong smelling, but fortunately for me, I love it. Just a small pinch flavors a whole pot of soup, and works so well for when I'm cooking for family that can't have onions or garlic due to diet restrictions for their health conditions! It's not QUITE identical to garlic or onion, but it's an incredible substitute; the best I've found! Great quality, tastes amazing, and I'm so glad it's packaged in glass...while I love the smell and flavor, a plastic jar would make my entire house smell like hing.

I’m always on the hunt for good quality hing powder that isn’t cut with wheat. This hing is fantastic and simple ingredient. I enjoy using it when I make kitchari with split mung. Love the glass jar (other hing I’ve bought in the past has been in plastic containers or bags). A little goes a long way with hing!

I've used hing over the years in ayurvedic recipes and I recently learned that I can use it to replace some of the lost flavor now that I cannot use onions and garlic regularly. It is not the same but it does add flavor. Hing is not something that I use much of so I like that it is in glass and kept as fresh as possible. Highly recommend!

I read about it that people say it makes you smell but it isn't. I don't use it every day, maybe 2-3 a week. I added more than a pinch, the smell strong which I like and it doesn't last long but I like the bitterness.

This smells so good! Definitely a very strong smell however! The taste is very onion and garlic like! It is really good in meat taste wise. It does say a little goes a long way but I find a pinch is not enough. The size of the container is very small but seems to hold a good amount. It was packaged very well wrapped and came in a box.
