The waffles are thin, crisp, and nicely baked, while the caramel filling inside is soft, rich, and perfectly sweet, maybe even too sweet. They have a wonderful buttery scent and a very satisfying texture - slightly crunchy on the outside with smooth caramel in the middle. My favorite way to enjoy them is to place a stroopwafel on top of a cup of hot tea or coffee for a minute so the caramel softens slightly. It makes them taste even more delicious.
