There two general types of cinnamon oil being sold: “Ceylon” and “Cassia”. Ceylon is “true” cinnamon; cassia is a related plant that is less expensive to produce. This is "Ceylon" and the best quality. As per John Herron in 'The Gut Health Protocol" cinnamon oil shows the best ratio (“selectivity”) of killing bad bacteria while not harming the beneficial gut bacteria. Warning: Use very small diluted dose sizes (see his book)

Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil is derived from the Cinnamomum zeylanicum tree. It has a warm, spicy aroma and offers antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. Used in aromatherapy, skincare, and natural remedies, it may support immune function, improve circulation, and aid digestion. However, it should be diluted before topical use due to its potency.
make an autum blend using this oil with sweet orange oil, ginger oil. It smelled beautiful. The oil is very potent, one drop can go very long...and it has a little bit sweet tone~
strong scent, easy to use in aromatherapy, cleaning diy sprays, in bath (just few drops is enough 1-3), diy perfumes, good size, good quality
I’ve found NOW essential oils to be just as good or better than the top name brands for an extremely affordable price in comparison to the name brands; especially being a senior citizen on a fixed income budget. The scents are always on point, and I use some internally; just check usage for internal, topical or diffuser.More popular EO’s are in 2 or 4oz size making some of them even more economical. I use in my hot tea👍
This cinnamon bark oil is incredibly potent—just a single drop fills my entire kitchen with the most amazing spicy scent. I love adding a drop to my DIY cleaning sprays for a natural, festive fragrance. It's important to be careful, as it can definitely irritate the skin if not diluted properly. The bottle is high-quality and will last me forever since a little goes such a long way.
The scent is very pleasant and smells really good ! This brand of essential oils is great and I’m comfortable using it around my house
I use this in a blend for germ resistance---cinnamon, clove, lemon, eucalyptus, and rosemary. Diluted in a carrier oil, I put it in a roller bottle and apply behind ears, over lymph channels, and inside wrists. It helps one resist germs---and it makes a nice smelling perfume, too!
This NOW Cinnamon Bark (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) is the real deal—rich, warm, spicy-sweet. A single drop scents the whole room, so it’s great for cozy “baking” blends (I do 1 drop cinnamon + 4–6 drops orange in the diffuser; sometimes add vanilla or clove). Value is solid for a 30 ml bottle because you use so little. Reality check: bark oil is hot. For skin it must be heavily diluted—think ~0.05–0.1% (about 1 drop in 2–4 Tbsp carrier oil). I never use it in baths or lip balms, and I don’t ingest essential oils. For cleaning/deodorizing, 1–2 drops in 100 ml of soap-and-water mix leaves a warm kitchen scent. Pros: authentic Ceylon aroma, extremely potent (a little goes far), fair price. Cons: can irritate skin/mucosa if not diluted; not beginner-friendly for topical use. Tips: store cool/dark; add a dropper reducer if you pour too fast; blend with orange, clove, cardamom, cedarwood for a balanced holiday vibe. Caution: Patch test first. Avoid during pregnancy, on kids, broken skin, or if you’re sensitive to spices. Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes. Diffuse with ventilation and avoid around pets (especially cats/birds).
The quality of this cinnamon oil is amazing — very pure and strong. Just one drop is enough, so the dosage goes a long way. The ingredients are simple: 100% cinnamon bark oil, no fillers. I use it for aromatherapy and sometimes diluted on the skin. The benefits include increased warmth, circulation, and a cozy mood boost. The taste is spicy if used in DIY oral care (with care!), but mainly I enjoy the scent.
