Smooth Operator™, Smooth Edge Can Opener, 1 Count

I have had a different smooth edge can opener for a very long time. When it broke I chose this one to replace it as it has minimal plastic. Unfortunately it is not as good as the one I had before. It is harder to turn. Also it is almost impossible to use on salmon cans - it is VERY hard to turn the handle. Salmon cans seem to be different to other cans for some reason and if you're wanting to regularly open salmon cans, I would not recommend this can opener.

I even use this can opener on cans that have pop tops because when the lid is removed this way there are no annoying edges for the food to get stuck on when you're emptying the can. I love not worrying about any sharp edges anymore. It took some getting used to, but you just need to make sure the cutting wheel cuts into the side of the lid seam when you put it on the can.

I was looking for a good can opener for the cans I buy on iHerb and this one does the trick, and equally important is the material composition of the handle.

This is difficult to use so I am going to go back to the other type of can opener. It is hard to line it up with the lid on the can, and if I do find it possible, then I am not strong enough to break the seal and start the lid removal process. I spent $14 and it is now sitting unused because of the difficulties. I am disappointed with this, and that it did not make this task any easier or safer. I think others might find this okay if they are able to operate it, but I could not find a way to enjoy it.

I can't wait till enjoy using the can opener. I have struggled with many in the past and the smooth edges this promises will make it easier for me to consume un-tabbed canned healthy foods I've been avoiding using because of the stress with opening the cans. It would be better if it was electronic though...

Love this! Hubby wasn’t convinced until he worked out how to use it. But now claims it’s the best can opener ever. Great design

When our can opener stopped working, I knew I wanted another smooth edge one to replace it. I found several options online, including this one. I went with this one because it contains no plastic and was at a similar price point for what I was looking at. I love that the packaging was plastic-free as well. The can opener works well, and I'm hoping it will last a long time.
