I put a few drops onto cotton balls to stop the bin from smelling and keep the fruit flies away. Peppermint oil is the fragrance they hate the most. Seems to work well for this. But the fragrance is pleasant for humans.

I purchased this to scare the mice away from our shed and boat this winter. It seems strong enough to do the job. It’s definitely peppermint, but slightly less powerful than expensive extracts. The size is quite large compared to what I would have paid an arm and a leg for. It’s in a nice darkened glass jar. Now to get the energy to go out in the cold cruel winter air to set this up…
