I have bought this SO many times... it's from Egypt and has the absolute best fragrance of any basil I have ever tired. I soak some in water and then make a quick olive oil/garlic powder pesto with it to put on gluten free pasta, with some goat cheese -- oh, wow, SO SO SO good!
there's a LOT of basil in this bag! a must buy if you love cooking with basil and usually add it as generously as I do.
I guess it's OK for a dry herb. It has a mild basil smell. The brand has a good reputation, which gives me comfort that I am using a good quality herb. But not a strong smell or taste.

This is a great product, but unless it is used frequently, it is not worth the money. It would be better to buy a smaller jar than store a pound of this spice. Over time, the flavor and quality of the spice diminish. The quality of the product is great.
