I bought these to grind 2-3 tablespoons for sleep as I always do, however these larger grey color seeds do not seem to work. Little black seeds I had before worked very well. Look up K.P. Khalsa Ayurvedic info. Best combine nutmeg and poppy seeds as poppy seeds work quickly and nutmeg has delay of 2-5 hours, so together work very nicely.

Poppy seed is legal and if properly used and not mixed with other things it is not like the common rumors of drug addiction. I used 1/8 of a teaspoon in a cup of decaf at night. I am an old guy and lawfully responsible.

Great quality and size for an affordable price! Poppy seeds are a traditional ingredient in European recipes for breads and cakes so I use them frequently. Sometimes I need a full cup or more for a recipe! And I was sick of paying for overpriced small containers (That never give you more than maybe a half cup) of OLD poppy seeds on a shelf. They are hard to find in grocery stores and when I did find them they were usually old. The package was a light blocking plastic bag that did not contain any rips or holes.
