I was looking for an alternative when Toms of Maine brand was unavailable for a while. Toms used to sell same ounces as Desert Essence. Then Toms reduced the ounces and repackaged as in shrinkflation. I figured time to try another brand. I am happy with Desert Essence flavor, quality, and price for more ounces, and yes, I still have all my teeth.
I've tried a few other natural ingredient toothpastes, and none of them have worked this well. Yes, it cleans my teeth, and the fennel flavor is fine. But the main benefit is I've had zero teeth, mouth pain or irritation since I started using it a few years ago. I may not have even thought about that, but I bought another natural brand at some point. Almost right away some areas in mouth were irritated. I'm never switching again.
I was surprised at how large this tube was. There is no wasted space within the tube, either. I greatly appreciate that. I was also not expecting the overwhelming taste of fennel. I don't mind fennel at all. But, if you don't like it or black licorice, you probably won't like this toothpaste. I probably won't get this particular flavor again, but definitely this brand, because it is good quality at a great price.
I order this paste because of its natural ingredients and I like the price/volume ratio, but I don't like the taste.
This is a good toothpaste that cleans well, produces a bit of foam, and leaves a refreshing sensation. A nice advantage is that its formula is mostly made with natural ingredients. It comes in a standard plastic tube with a flip-top cap, which can be a bit stiff to open, but it stays attached, so it doesn’t fall off and closes securely to help prevent leaks. The fennel flavor may not appeal to everyone, but the product comes in a generous size and offers good overall value.

I have been using this toothpaste for many years and enjoy it. I switch between the mint and the fennel and like both. The tastes are good and find it gentle on my teeth and gums.
