Organic French Roast, Whole Bean Coffee, Dark Roast, 12 oz (340 g)

I did not like this roast it was actually kind of sour for me which is starnge for a French roast that is supposed to be very dark and dark chocolatey

I should of known better by the pictures of the beans that customers have posted because they lack that glistening shine that I am typically used to seeing with French Roast. I don't know whether shiny beans are a good thing, but these are on the dry side. They taste a bit stale with a medium coarse ground. When I grind it finer, there's more flavor but still flat. There isn't that smokey aroma and robust flavor that I like with a dark roast. Even with heaping tablespoons, I can't get any satisfaction with flavor. Maybe it is best to be described as a breakfast/ medium because it also has acidity. It bloats my belly sometimes. I never have this issue with dark roasts. It's a standard cup of flat generic coffee. At least it's organic.

These coffee beans are of great quality. I love the smooth and sweet taste. I grind the beans with the Mt Whitney Decaf, to reduce the amount of caffeine, to make 8 serving each morning. The size of the packaging for the price is a great buy!
