Advanced 2.5% Retinol Serum, 1 oz (30 ml)

I liked the natural composition of this serum, however I think the witch hazel maybe too drying for my combo skin. It absorbs super quickly and I follow immediately with my niacinamide serum and then my nighttime moisturizer. Too early to talk about any results, I used tretinoin during the winter period and I doubt I will see any big changes with this serum. However, I think it will maintain my retinol benefits nicely during the summer.

The formula contains a nice selection of botanical extracts, vitamins, and moisturizing agents, including hyaluronic acid, aloe, jojoba oil, green tea, and vitamin E. Retinol and propolis add extra skin benefits, however the product feels quite mild in effect, likely due to the low concentration of actives, so it works better as a gentle daily moisturizer rather than a potent treatment. Suitable for those with sensitive skin or for layering in a skincare routine, but don’t expect dramatic results. For skin that’s used to stronger actives, like mine, it feels weak and it’s better to choose something more potent.

I have been using this off and on for some years. Great for sensitive skin. There's no over powering scent and it sinks right in. Easy to add to any skin routine. So, not sure how convinced I am about it being 2.5% retinol...if you look at the ingredients its not high up in the list. Also the dispenser pump sucks. Sometimes the product doesn't end up on my hand but on the floor. I guess as a starter retinol it is good but I will be upgrading soon.

Would  absolutely recommend and buy again 👍 The serum smells relatively neutral. It has a thick texture and feels absolutely luxurious and moisturising on my skin. My perception is that my fine wrinkles have been getting less and my skin is glowing. I am a female born in 1977 with oily patches and very dry flaking spots around my mouth / chin area, who still gets pimples and bumps on my face, chest and buttocks ... so I decided to try this product for rejuvenation around my eyes, without breaking out in zits. As I prefer to use vegan and clean products from ethical brands, my choice fell  to Cosmedica since I also use their Hyaluronic Acid. The price is absolutely acceptable in relation to the content volume. Perfect dosage possible due to the pumphead . I jave tried in the last 5 years few retinol serums. And this one is the best. It is light texture, spread easily and absorb quickly. It is giving a significant impact on fine lines, and helps reduce the redness on my cheeks. Because it is light it is perfect for combining another serum. If you do so, put the lighter serum as base. I put this one first and then a thicker one. Another important thing is the the list of ingredients is very good, very natural. I am sure you will enjoy thus serum
