I thought the oil darkened the skin and was used as a substitute for tanning in the sun. Turns out it doesn't, but it is pleasant as a body moisturizer and has a great smell.

I’ve used this oil a few times and like how it enhances tanning. The coconut and tropical smell is pleasant and gives me that “beach” feeling without being too strong. It feels silky rather than greasy, and my skin looks more luminous and moisturized after using it (I wouldn’t say it’s skin care but still) It’s important to know that this has no SPF. Coconut oil by itself offers little to no UV protection, so you are exposing your skin. It does help me tan faster, but it can also feel sticky in hot weather and sometimes attracts bugs. Some people also wonder about using it in tanning beds. It’s not really made for that, and oils in general aren’t the best for tanning beds since they can be harsh on your skin and on the machine. Overall, I’d recommend it if you want a nice dark tan and love the coconut scent, but make sure you know it’s not a sunscreen.
