Very strong unlike some others that bend out of shape easily. They stay closed but open with little effort when need be. I purchased the brushed nickel and they look very nice with the new ivory linen shower curtain in my casual rustic bathroom. They slide smoothly and easily. Big improvement over the cheap ones they replaced. A nice finishing touch.
