StriVectin Super C Retinol Brighten and Correct Vitamin C Serum, 1oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been enjoying this serum. I apply a small amount on my skin and it absorbs well into my skin. It does not have a strong smell. It contains some great ingredients for the skin, such as Vitamin C and Retinol. I have been using it a few weeks and so far it has been working well on my skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft, brightens and helps with my redness.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the StriVectin Super-C Retinol Brighten and Correct Serum and here are my initial thoughts, I will update if anything changes. Love the packaging except for the fact it can't be in the light without risking ruining the formula. The formula's scent is crisp with a hint of something strange and it's very strong but dissipates within about 35 minutes. The serum absorbs well but does leave a hint of greasiness. This product boasts that consumers agree there is no irritation but I have to disagree on that. I have several small irritated patches of skin after using this product. I also have noticed my face breaking out assumably from the retinol which is what I will update after continuing to use the product we'll see if the acne continues.

There’s no residue or greasy feeling, it almost feels watery and that makes it so much easier to absorb into my skin. I love that it doesn’t have a strong smell and it doesn’t irritate my skin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to try this because I had always heard vit C and retinol should not be used together. Turns out they can be combined. I have been using it for over a week now so its a bit early to say how well it is working. But here are my first impressions: I have oily skin, yet it leaves my skin noticeably dry. Not a dealbreaker for me but for someone with extra dry skin definitelyneeds an extra hydrating moisturizer to layer it. The serum has an orangey color, which initially worried me because vitamin C turns yellowish orangey when it oxidizes. Thankfully that seems to be the intended color for this formula. The biggest downside for me is the smell. It has a quite strong chemical smell that doesn’t dissipate quickly. Also, I’ve noticed some pilling issues when I layer it with other serums and creams.

It combines 2 of my favorite active ingredients in skin care. Having the opportunity to apply Retinol and Vitamin C in a single step is a big plus. I like to keep it in my skincare mini fridge for better longevity. It is a lightweight serum and fast absorbing. It is not irritating at all on my skin, but it does contain fragrance. If your skin is sensitive to added fragrance, stay away from this one.

It also helps with fine lines and uneven texture and improves the firmness and elasticity of the skin. Acerola cherry extract helps with the overall skin and it’s the source of vitamin c in it. I like that it doesn’t irritate the skin and it’s vegan and lightweight. I use it every night and can already see the difference in my overall skincare texture and complexion.

It has a thick texture and it does absorb quickly, it has a soft citrusy scent, it last a long time so it’s a great value for the money.
