Baseline Essential 2-Wheel Carry-On

I have been a Flight Attendant for 36 years and have owned a number of different bags over the years. One year in with the 2 wheel Baseline Essential 22" and I can honestly say that this is by far the best bag I have owned. With the flat bottom I can easily pack everything flat and I have no problem carrying everything i need for 7days of work. It pulls super easy and fits in just about every aircraft overhead bin (except very small regional jets i. e. CRJ-900) that I work or commute on. The material is solid and still looks great even after one year. I have never had a issue with the handle and I do clean the outside of the wheel bearings from time to time to remove carpet fibers so the wheels spin smoothly. Yes many will say the price is high but this is a bag for life. The crew bags we are offered from that other brand are junk and barely last a year or two. I may not have too many years left as a Flight Attendant but I know this bag will last me far beyond and into retirement. Thank you Briggs and Riley for making a quality product

I recently punched a Briggs & Riley 2-wheel carry-on, and found it to be as advertised; maneuverable, durable and has a lifetime warranty. Just what one would expect from a well respected company. After shopping around I found that Macy,s prices. on luggage, were unbeatable. Thank you Macy's on your low prices.

So I’ve been a flight attendant for about five years and I’ve had the tumi 4 wheel the travel pro flight Crew 5 and I did extensive research on one of the best Crew bag amongst flight attendants and pilots and I decided to go with Briggs and Riley… the garment compartment specifically for my uniforms and the lifetime warranty is what sold me… I’ve had it for about a month now it’s sleek, it’s durable no complaints so far!

The suitcase is very sturdy and well-made; however it is very heavy empty. I travel every week for business and while I like the suitcase, I ultimately went back to my much lighter TravelPro. By the time I packed the suitcase, it was almost too heavy for me to hoist in the overhead bins. The side handle and the zippers are also on the opposite sides of the suitcase which also made it harder to get in the overhead on the plane. I'll keep the suitcase for back-up but the weight is just too much for me for weekly use.

I purchased this bag on advice from Kit Dillon at Wirecutter. He’s a big guy who seems to think all travelers are also big guys, but we are not. I am 5’3” 112# 73 yr old and female — he has no concept of reviewing anything that will work for someone like me. This thing is really, really heavy when compared to, say, the Antler soft side. Getting it in the overhead bin when full is a recipe for a sprung back and neck. I travel solo often for work and adventure and always first class, and this one is an unforgiving, unmanageable (dare I say it?) ugly monster. Also I found the much vaunted compression to be oversold: it’s super finicky and sometimes releases on its own, a disaster waiting to happen on the road. I get that it sounds good but my recommendation is that if you are not a 6’2” 200# 30 yr old male, there are much better choices for you. I returned it for refund tout de suite, the ease of which was the best thing about the transaction.

The construction and design of this carry-on is fantastic. Well thought out practicality and function. Outstanding materials were used. It looks great and professional. Love the blue color!

I took this to Mexico for a trip through Oaxaca and Mexico City. Of course, there was an unexpected checked bag situation, and I knew my Briggs and Riley would perform admirably. Sure enough, it landed in Oaxaca looking great, with all my belongings in place and in one piece. It took on cobbled streets without a problem, and looked stylish doing it. The wheels are solid, and I felt that I had made a great, buy-it-once purchase. Thanks! Love my luggage!

This suitcase is good quality! I am happy with it so far! I am an airline crew member , I hope this suitcase will last for a long time through out my career.

I've had a BR 22" roller for almost 30 years as well as a larger, expandable roller for at least 15 years. Both have been used extensively and have served me extremely well. BR has always lived up to the obligation to make repairs without exception. I recently bought two more 22" rollers as gifts. They are not the same. The construction is lighter. You can't get your hand comfortably under the carrying handle, and the expandable feature is very weak, i. e. it can be compressed without retracting the latches.

Great bag for travel. However wheels are a bit noisy and rough because of the material it’s made from. I prefer rollerblade type wheels for smoothness and noise free travel
