Omg!! The cookie recipes are delicious. Having already owned the cake bible, I would expect nothing less from the author. My favorite cookie from here is pecan freezer squares. I can daydream about them all day long. Pick up this book and try it!

Another incredible cookbook by Rose Levy Beranbaum is a win-win. I can’t wait to start making the cookies for the holidays.

This is the best cookie cookbook I've ever read. It has every kind of cookie you could want to cook. The directions are easy to follow, and the pictures are beautiful. This book is full of mouthwatering recipes. I received a complimentary copy from Mariner Books via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Way back in 1988, I was working in corporate America, coming home to take care of my young family, and when they had settled for the evening, I would pull out my copy of The Cake Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum and read it with the devotion worthy of any cultist. You see, my dream was to go to New York and study pastry. I never dreamed I'd ever be able to do that, and The Cake Bible was as close as I was ever going to get to the level of master education in a subject I adored. But I did get that chance, and everthing I learned from Beranbaum's book gave me the edge I needed to earn a blue ribbon and launch my career. You may not want to attend a culinary school after reading The Cookie Bible, but I guarantee you will receive the same master class education I received, and more. The Cookie Bible is another brilliant entry in Rose Levy Beranbaum's Bible series. With attention to the smallest of details, Beranbaum guides you through the vast world of cookies. From drop cookies (her My Dream Chocolate Chip cookies are worthy of poetry) to the very popular macaron - and Beranbaum's are otherworldly, to Maida Heatter's Palm Beach Biscotti, my personal favorite, and one I made in my career every week for 20 plus years. Some recipes are perfect for beginners, and others will be a challenge for even dab hands. What sets this book apart from any other cookie cookbook is each recipe is arranged as though you're in an educational setting. Each component listed. The pans you'll need as well as any special tools to accomplish the recipe. Ingredients and their measurements, both weight and measure. Each step is detailed for success. Tips and tricks to help you along the way. You can not fail. A special section in the beginning details everything you could possibly need to achieve success, right down to Rose's favorite plastic wrap. If you're a fan of Rose Levy Beranbaum's other books, you know the treat that awaits you. If you are only beginning to bake, you could not have found a better book to guide you on this journey. Regardless, this is a master baking class taught by the master herself. I recommend you make the first cookie in the book, get a glass of milk, tea or coffee, and read through the book for your next cookie adventure. Enjoy!

Wow, this beautifully photographed collection of cookie recipes is top notch!! As I am more of a “cook” than a “baker”, I loved all of the helpful baking basics that the author included. These hints include measuring ingredients correctly, oven temperatures, handling the dough and what the best kitchen staples to have on hand are. This book will be enjoyed much better in physical book form I think- I really want to mark pages and add notes in it. Ordering my physical copy soon- in order to use it for holiday baking. Note though- this is so much more than just a holiday cookie book- there are so many recipes that should be enjoyed all throughout the year. This would make such a lovely birthday gift- the book the pictures are just gorgeous, Add a festive bow with a cute kitchen utensil or cookie cutter attached and you will be known as the best gift giver! Definitely recommend this one- it is chock full of amazing recipes, photos and helpful tips.

Wow this book is stunning! They could also have named it Opera Omnia, it's so complete! Apart from the many, many recipes, there are also tips and indications about ovens, temperatures equipment and ingredients. Everything you need to know is here, in great details and clearly described. This is the only book you'll ever need for making endless cookies. Now I have to go buy The Cake Bible by the same author! I love that this book offers so many tips for baking. I am a home baker/hobby cookie decorator and I love getting all the tips that sometimes take years to learn by mistake. Also... cookie recipes? Win/Win!

The Cookie Bible, by Rose Levy Beranbaum is a must have cookie reference if you love baking cookies. I'm a big fan of her Bread Bible as well as her Cake Bible so I knew I would be in good hands with this book. The Baking Gems she has for perfecting your bakes are great, the pictures are mouthwatering and I can't wait to try some of the recipes! She breaks the cookies into different categories - Rolled by Hand, Dropped or Piped, Shaped by Hand, etc. She even has a chapter on Holiday cookies. The writing is very clear and the steps are detailed. I can see that being a turnoff for people who are used to easy and fast recipes, but there is a mix of easier and more involved recipes. I also enjoyed that she included measurements by weight and by volume, as well as oven temps in F and C. I was the envy of my friends when I mentioned that I was able to snag an advanced reader copy of this book, and I'm so excited to share some of these baked goods with them!

I read through this cookbook cover to cover, drooling over the beautifully photographed cookies and making a note of all the recipes I wanted to try (darn near every one of them!). This cookie cookbook is perfect for beginner bakers as well as experienced bakers. Rose's recipes are so wonderfully detailed it leaves you with nothing but confidence that you will achieve perfect results in baking your cookie of choice. The collection of cookie recipes is diverse, ensuring you will always find a cookie to suit your taste buds. Even though I consider myself an experienced baker, I sincerely appreciated the very extensive section at the beginning of the cookbook titled 'Golden Rules for Baking the Best Cookies'. I will be returning to The Cookie Bible time and time again!

THE COOKIE BIBLE is one of those cookbooks where just reading it leads to a serious case of munchies. Or, shall I say, the sudden desire to eat copious amounts of crunchy, soft or just plain delicious cookies. Author Rose Levy Beranbaum is a stickler for precision in baking; nothing is left to chance in these recipes. Every detail is addressed, discussed and the author’s preferences are clear. I made one of the recipes and it was delicious, although very labor intensive. Somehow cookies seem like a baked good that should be easy and fast. This book suggests that rigor and planning are the only routes to success. The book will be an amazing gift or a welcome addition to a cook’s library.
