Samsonite Electronic Luggage Scale

Bought this item before. Was very happy. Just glad the opportunity to purchase it locally through Macy’s.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It does the job, but: 1. The plastic packaging is ridiculous. I had to get garden shears to cut it open, and then had to work around jagged edges to extract the item. 2. The instructions do not explain where the battery cover is. There is no "bottom corner" of a cylinder. If you hold it under bright light, you can see the outline of the battery cover, but when you start to remove it, it feels like it's about to break in half. Having an illustration of where the battery cover is in the instructions would be helpful, and I'm curious why Samsonite thinks a text-only instruction sheet is sufficient. Or even put the words "battery cover" on the battery cover. Now there's an idea!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a couple of years ago and only use it maybe twice per year. On my latest trip I was weighing my wife's back and the hook broke off from the scale. It only read 51 lbs, which 1 lb. more than the airlines require. This scale should not have broken at 51 lbs. This is a poor-quality scale. I paid more for this scale thinking that it is Samsonite and should be a quality scale, but it is not.

Scale is pretty accurate. It's just hard to open the battery compartment.

I bought this scale and the part of the hanger broke. Poor quality metal
