Too small for standard size pillar candles. I didn’t even bother opening the little box inside with the glass holder once I saw the size of the outer wooden sconce. Also, the one I received was mildly scuffed across the top. The polish/color on the wood on the curved edge on the top was chipped. Returned it the same day as I received it.
A significant item to use all year along, every season, and special events. More than a candle holder. I use it for flowers and holiday berry sprays.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Actually living in hurricane country, I had not seen this piece before I bought it. It's just the right size for a votive or small candle, and the glass won't fall out unless you really give it a swing.
