OXO GG Butterfly Mop

I wrote a one-star review the other day that wasn't posted, even after verifying my email address, so I'm writing another review using a middling rating in hopes that the bots won't kick me out. Bought this mop with high hopes because it seemed well-engineered and OXO is well-regarded for other products; it absolutely doesn't squeeze out the sponge enough. I was left with pools of water on my hardwood floors and couldn't give this sponge an assist with my hands. As others have noted, this needs a total design overhaul. Wish I had seen the reviews first. One or zero stars from me.

Bought this mop at my local hardware store because of OXO's reputation, and it seemed sturdy. I've been on a quest to find the perfect mop to use on my predominantly hardwood floors. What I discovered is that the squeezing action of the handle doesn't fully squeeze out the sponge -- big pools of water were left all over the floor. I couldn't press the edges of the mop together further; neither could I hand-squeeze out the sponge. Seems like a major design failure. Luckily, my hardware store gave me a refund. Called the 800# on the package and OXO refused to refund me.

Very easy mop to use and clean. Does the job!

Best mop ever! Really cleans without alot of effort. Pad is removable for washing. Replacement sponges are available.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mop seems to be well-made with sturdy squeezing mechanism, however it doesn't squeeze tightly enough, leaving floor a but too damp. Previous Ocedar sponge didnt have the squeeze mechanism and could be wrung out more thoroughly.

It looked like the mop head had a scrubby type material on it so it would pick up stuff stuck to the floor. It did not.

I have typically left it in the mop bucket to allow gravity to drain more out. The mop doesn’t completely ring out but, cleans well. But, because of the above statement leaves water on the floor. I had high hopes for this map after much research for a sponge mop. It holds too much water and the squeezing mechanism doesn't get enough of thr water out. Made the floors way too wet. Very disappointed.

It is so well designed, squeezing sideways so even a narrow bucket works well. Love how well the mop head cleans, smooth and thorough.
