I like the dimensions of this press as well as the weight. Not too heavy. I can have two good sized burgers underneath. This is my second one. I handwash and make sure to dry right away after washing. If not it shows signs of rust. Not sure if I could “season” it like you would a cast iron skillet.
My brother LOVES these but I found out he already had one.
This pan is sturdy and leaves my chicken tender and crispy!
It starts to rust rught away. We had to return it next day. Not very good quality.

Great for grilling
I have not used cast iron before but when I washed this grill press (used mild dish soap and water Not a dishwasher), it appeared to rust. I wiped it down and the rust/brown spots seemed to go away. I have not used it since. Also note, it is 9". It will not fit in a large frying pan/skillet if you have a set of pans (sm, med, lg) with sides. Bottomline: Probably good for using on a "grill or griddle" that's extra large but does not work in regular cookware. I am disappointed with this Cuisinart purchase but Macy's had it on sale and I've already washed it so it's not worth returning. Perhaps I'll purchase a griddle and try frying bacon and use this press with that.
I bought this for the sole purpose of making flat bacon with no fat..I love it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this cast iron grill press! It's heavy enough to really clamp down bacon, sandwhiches, you name it, but no too heavy to store in my kitchen. I love the sturdy handle and solid design. This product will last me years to come. I also enjoy that it's cast iron so that the iron can season and naturally be nonstick over time. 10/10 would recommend!
